Overall DeCarTrans Project

The content of the overall DeCarTrans project follows the results of the C3-Mobility  joint project and is to be combined through the two research strands of fuel development on the one hand and fuel application on the other. 

To this end, two consortia have been formed for the overall project, which together cover all areas of the process chain and application technology: 

  1. Sub-project DeCarTrans – Fuel Development, which receives funding from the
    Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV).
  2. Sub-project DeCarTrans – Fuel Application, which is applying for funding via the
    Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK).

The aim of the two projects is to demonstrate the actual feasibility of synthetic petrol based on methanol for short-term and effective CO2 reduction in the transport sector along the entire value chain from methanol production and application to questions of the legal framework and market launch.
