Sustainable innovations in motorsport: eFuel Racing 98 at the Nürburgring 24-hour race

Team DeCarTrans supplied Team Bonk Motorsport with the innovative and renewable fuel “eFuel Racing 98” at this year’s 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. The team, which competed with a BMW M4 GT4 in the class for vehicles with alternative fuels, achieved second place in the AT3 class. The race was stopped after seven hours due to poor visibility, but the BMW showed impressive performance and reliability.

The partnership with FEV, Bertrandt and other renowned companies enabled intensive test bench research and successful tests that confirmed the competitiveness of the “eFuel Racing 98”. The fuel, which is produced from biogenic or regenerative sources, performed excellently in the race and helped to reduce CO₂ emissions. This collaboration has impressively demonstrated that sustainable solutions are possible in motorsport and DeCarTrans is looking forward to incorporating these findings into future projects.
