Successful Kick-off Meeting

The DeCarTrans project for the production of up to 380 000 L of green fuel officially started in January 2023 and had a successful kick-off meeting on 8 February 2023 in Freiberg

The consortium, coordinated by FEV Europe GmbH, aims to further establish the large-scale production of renewable fuels over the next four years in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector as quickly as possible.

The IEC TU Freiberg and Chemieanlagenbau Chemnitz GmbH (CAC) therefore want to optimise the energy management and product quality of the methanol-to-gasoline technology. A total volume of up to 380,000 L of green gasoline is produced in the FlexiSyn plant at IEC TU Freiberg.

The fuel produced is supplied by our partners BMW Group, CORYTON, Forschungszentrum Jülich, GMA Gesellschaft für Mineralöl-Analytik und Qualitätsmanagement mbH, Hermann Lother & Co. Mineralölhandelsgesellschaft mbh, Porsche AG, Shell, TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Toyota, TENSOR AG.

The fruitful discussion during the kick-off meeting confirmed the great interest in sustainable synthetic fuels.

The DeCarTrans project is funded with a total of almost 12.8 million euros by the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport as part of the Renewable Fuels Funding Programme. The funding guideline for the development of renewable fuels is coordinated by NOW GmbH and supported by the project management agencies VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH and Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e.V. (FNR).
